Optimization Research of Er-doped Magneto-refractive Photonic Crystal Fiber Based on Surface Plasmon Resonance

Abstract In order to meet the demand for large-scale magnetic field testing, this paper proposes a D-shaped magneto-refractive photonic crystal fiber (MRPCF) based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) by using erbium-doped material. By varying diameter, location, and number of layers air holes, four different Models A, B, C, D structures are created, corresponding sensing properties analyzed. The simulation findings demonstrate that sensitivities 28 pm/mT, 48 36 21 respectively when strength is 5 - 405 mT. Meanwhile, figure merit (FOM) MRPCF-SPR sensors investigated, which have FOMs 4.8×10 -4 mT -1 , 6.4×10 1.9×10 0.9×10 . Model B has high sensitivity large FOM. It shows altering structural design can significantly improve effect MRPCF. proposed MRPCF numerous uses in areas geological research, earthquake tsunami monitoring, military navigation. also be expected enable quasi-distributed sensing.
